Energy Worldnet, Inc.
Energy Worldnet, Inc. (EWN) is a professional services firm founded in 1994, relocating to Decatur in 2005. Clients reap the benefit of their 20 years of experience in using technology solutions to provide training, evaluations, record management and consulting services. Their primary customers are those in the energy and utility industry. EWN training helps pipeline operators and their contractors meet their regulatory and operational compliance requirements. Decatur's location is literally right in the middle of most of the north Texas energy business thus EWN's desire to grow with that business.
The high demand service they provide means business is strong and they found they had a need for more employees, more square footage and stronger technology systems to support their growth. EWN has a planned expansion of their existing building going from approximately 7,500 square feet to almost 12,000 square feet. The next few years will see significant increases in employee numbers rapidly filling the extra square footage. Their additional technology need presented itself in the form of a system called a SCORM Engine, which will work with the learning content management system to increase training capabilities and further the company's investments in industry standards and best-in-class solutions.
Decatur Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) was able to assist through their existing Business Expansion and Retention Program with an incentive grant that will enable EWN to purchase the SCORM Engine and the subsequent training and ongoing support of the provider.
According to company President Geoff Isbell, "The support from the Decatur Economic Development Corporation for our business has been crucial for us to be able to grow with customer demand here in the U.S. and internationally. With this grant, the DEDC is enabling us to invest in new software and capabilities for our employees so that we can meet our customers' needs. All of this will ultimately result in additional revenue for Energy Worldnet."
Energy Worldnet, Inc.'s commitment to Decatur shows their strong support in providing stable, high-paying jobs to our residents. The Decatur Economic Development Corporation was only too happy to be a part of the EWN expansion to keep those jobs in Decatur and to play a role in assisting an existing business to further thrive and prosper.
